Advanced Audition Requirements

All auditions for the 2026-2027 season will include the listed scales and a prepared excerpt. Please download the PDF that is for your specific instrument for the complete details.

String instruments

The below files are ONLY for if you will be new to Advanced. If you were in Advanced Strings last year, Mrs. Schuler will be emailing you a different excerpt.

All State Students

Any student auditioning for a Florida All State group (either band or orchestra) will play their excerpts and scales they are learning for that in lieu of the below excerpts. These auditions will be in person and we will contact you about times. It is so the instructors can give you helpful advice as you continue to prepare for your auditions in September.

Audition Videos

Other than All State Students, all audition videos should be sent to homeschoolbandandstrings@gmail.com by July 26th at midnight. Please put student's name and group auditioning for in the subject line. If you are submitting multiple students, please send each one in a separate email.
